The Red Flash set a new program-record for wins, going 11-8 in dual meets this season, including wins in all three home meets. Saint Francis finished fourth at the NEC Championships.

The MVP Award is given each year to the person who the team and coaches deem as the most valuable to the team in and out of the pool. This award will be determined by the number of points scored during the season, team input and coaches’ input.
The Rookie of the Year Award is given to the freshman who accumulates the most points in a season. Quon earned three Top Four finishes at the NEC Championships. She set a program record in the 400-yard IM, with a time of 4:24.95, finishing third in the event. She also finished third in the 500-yard Freestyle, touching the wall in 4:58.75, good for fifth all-time at SFU. Quon also placed fourth in the 200-yard Backstroke, with a time of 2:03.09, ranking third all-time at SFU. She combined with freshman Aimee Baur (North Wales, Pa/North Penn), junior Emma Karell (Norrtlje, Sweden/Tby Swim Club) and junior Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen) to place third in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay for a time of 7:29.74, which is second all-time at SFU. Quon won two NEC Rookie of the Week awards. |

The Coaches’ Award is decided on by the coaches and given to a person who most positively helps the team in and out of the pool.
McLean served as a team captain in 2016-17. McLean finished eighth in the 400-yard IM at the NEC Championships, with a time of 4:37.07. In the 200-yard Medley Relay, McLean teamed with Lafferty, freshman Erin O’Neill (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Bowman for a third-place finish, with a time of 1:43.12, the third-best time in SFU history. She also combined with freshman Sabrina Bowman (Vandergrift, Pa./Saint Joseph’s), Baur and Lafferty for a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, with a time of 1:35.14, good for fifth all-time at SFU. |

In the spirit of our most famous athletic alumni and the story of Maurice Stokes and Jack Twyman, the Teammate of the Year Award recognizes the team’s “ideal teammate” who exemplifies selflessness, commitment and dedication to her team in and out of the pool. This award is determined by a team vote.
O’Dell placed 10th in the 400-yard IM at the NEC Championships, with a time of 4:37.40. At the NEC Championships, O’Dell also competed in the 200-yard Backstroke (2:10.15) and 200-yard Butterfly (2:10.79). O’Dell finished second in the 200-yard Freestyle against Lock Haven, with a pace of 2:04.65. |

The Most Improved Swimmer Award is given to the swimmer who has the most significant time drops during the season. This award will focus on upperclassmen who have previously been a member of the team. This award will be determined by amount of time dropped during the season, team input and coaches’ input.
At the NEC Championships, Crnic posted times of 25.36 in the 50-yard Freestyle, 55.09 in the 100-yard Freestyle and 2:00.02 in the 200-yard Freestyle. She combined with freshman Emily Graziano (Jeannette, Pa./Penn Trafford), sophomore Kristin Fisher (Lakevilla, Conn./Housatonic Valley Regional) and O’Neill for a time of 1:39.75 in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. Teamed with freshman Teresa Narduzzi (West Orange, N.J./West Orange), Fisher and Kristen Toth (Silver Spring, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) for a time of 3:44.60 in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. |
Marrissa Walters (Brampton, Ontario/Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School) Sophomore |
Walters earned the program’s Handstand and Jump Rope Championships for 2016-17. Both competitions are endurance-based, with Walters winning the Jump Rope competition, with a time of 7:33.72.
The sophomore recorded times of 5:35.18 in the 500-yard Freestyle, 1:14.85 in the 100-yard Breaststroke and 2:42.06 in the 200-yard Breaststroke at the NEC Championships. Walters earned a second place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle against Lock Haven, with a time of 58.40. |
