Ryan Lochte’s reality show, What Would Ryan Lochte Do, premieres April 21st on E! 10pm/9pm central.
UPDATE: Lochte has built his brand since he first stepped on the Olympic stage at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Over the last three Olympic Games Lochte has amassed 11 Olympic medals, and he is showing no signs of stopping. With his sights set on the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Lochte has a 4-year plan. Balancing his brand and the media-driven side has been a challenge, however. Lochte consistently competes, and he is always honest with the media at swimming meets about where he’s at training-wise. With the intense production of his new reality show in full-swing for the next 6 weeks (8 weeks total), Lochte has been able to remain the pool, but he hasn’t made any gains. He’s simply staying fit. Lochte promises the media, his peers, his fans and his swim coach, Gregg Troy, once production has concluded, he’ll be back to his old self, 100% focused on his swim practices in the pool.

But, as much as these girls like him, they realized that outside of his looks, and his talent in the water, the guy is not very intelligent (doesn’t mean they won’t still croon over him of course). Personally I think the show is self-serving, and does not do what he’s said it would do. On either Leno or Letterman, he said, “I hope this show brings swimming to the forefront not just every 4 years, but every year.” Drinking, partying, and hooking up with random girls at bars is NOT putting swimming in a good… Read more »
What Would Ryan Lochte Do? Now we know–not a helluva lot. I will probably still be cringing in my sleep tonight…
Sorry to my fellow swimmers and swim fans but I gotta keep it real here if I am going to maintain my credibility: WORST. SHOW. EVER.
The guy is pretty funny…can’t wait to watch it…it’s only for 8 weeks…not that much time off…he will carge in RIO. Can’t wait to see him blast it down there.
