Rio Torch Relay Day 57: Paruaguaçu Paulista, Marília, Assis & Londrina

On each day of the official Olympic torch relay, carrying the Olympic flame to the Olympic cauldron in Rio de Janeiro, the Rio2016 Facbeook page is posting brilliant and spectacular images from one of the world’s unique and most beautiful landscapes. Each day until August 5th, we will bring you these stunning images.

On day 57 the torch explored more of São Paulo, hitting three different cities there and another in Paraná. It first traveled to Paruaguaçu Paulista, located in the south-west of São Paulo. The population is just under 45,000. It then went to Marília, located in the midwestern region of the state. The population is just over 230,000. It also went through the municipalities of Assis and Londrina. Assis has a population of just over 100,00 and is located in the southwestern region of São Paulo, while Londrina is located in the northern area of Paraná and has a population of about 543,000.
