Rio Olympic Games Memorabilia Up For Auction

Can’t get over your post-Olympic blues? Keep the Olympic spirit going all year long by getting your hands on some special Rio memorabilia available on the official Games auction site.

Anyone around the world can capture Olympic sporting history by bidding on official Rio 2016 gear ranging from balls used in actual games and matches, such as tennis and volleyball, as well as unique, one-of-a-kind items that appeared within the Games Opening Ceremony.

Each authentic piece is affixed with the Rio 2016 Official Memorabilia hologram and serial number and is accompanied by supporting Official Memorabilia authentication documents.

The available items, which even include actual Olympic relay torches, have their particular auctions open for a specified period of time and the Rio site lists the last bid placed on each item. A bicycle from the athletes parade from the Opening Ceremony, for example, has a current bid of R$1305 or approximately $400 USD.

The selling of items used in an Olympics competition, on the grounds, or by the athletes in the Village is nothing new. After the London Olympics, the site ‘Remains of the Games’ was created for sports enthusiasts to purchase everything from beds, chairs and couches used by the world’s greatest stars.
