MEN’S 200 BREAST:
- Josh Prenot– 2:09.49
- Reece Whitley– 2:14.99
- Moises Loschi- 2:15.47
Josh Prenot picked up his first win of the meet tonight, leading start to finish to win the men’s 200 breast. Prenot finished over 5 seconds faster than anyone else in the final, clocking a 2:09.49. That clips his previous season best of 2:09.50 from Arena Pro Swim Orlando.
Reece Whitley and Moises Loschi were locked in a close battle for 2nd. Loschi started to catch up to Whitley on the back hald, but Whitley held on for 2nd in 2:14.99 to Loschi’s 2:15.47.
Ew, gross.
Lotta fans of puberty-related headlines here.
He’s broadened out a lot. I hope he doesn’t get TOO big to last a 200. He’s still getting his stroke primed for his body, which keeps changing.
To my eye, he looks like he could be world-class in the next few years. If he wants to go for the Olympics, he could be winning by 2020. Yes, it’s cool to be able to say you made the Olympics as a teenager, but if you have a career like Phelps/Peirsol/Lochte/Adrian it’s ultimately a footnote.
“…a carrier like Phelps/Peirsol/Lochte/Adrian..”. I know Adrian is an Olympic champion too, but carrier wise, he’s not really comparable with those three other guys. I think he is constantly given much more credit than he earned. At least on this site.
Very True, but he has been an olympic champion since 2008(swimming in the heats of the 4×100 free relay). I know in this day and age it is very hard to be an elite sprinter for more than one olympic cycle and this is technically his third.
