The fastest time of the meet came from Nathan Adrian out of prelims, but the final of the men’s 50 free was exciting in its own right. Watch it here. (Lane 1 is at the top of your screen.)

NICK SOEDEL THAT’S MY BOY!
Good swimming by David Hibbs. Family with 11 kids … pretty sure all swam at one point or another.
Grevers going 24.0 really puts into perspective how incredible Sjostrom’s 24.4 fly was! She basically would have been right at his shoulders at the finish. Wow!
Giles Smith went 23.97 50 fly in prelims same meet!
Grevers’ fly ties for 48th internationally with only Jones faster so far in US (although I’m sure Godsoe and others might be able to go faster). Is the 50 fly in a good spot for him in the event schedule? Having another event with a realistic chance of making the World Champ team might take some of the pressure off his 100 back.
