Race Video: Tyler Clary Shows His Strength in the Men’s 400 m IM

 Tyler Clary says he has never been sharper and he is right: he crushed the entire race, more importantly, his second freestyle leg was so on point and won the A final with a 4:09.51. Chase Kalisz really posed a threat on the breaststroke leg but finished second with a time of 4:11.52.

Gunnar Bentz really pulled through with only 150 m left in his race and backed half the B final with a time of 4:15.24. Corey Okubo had a great front half and finished second with a time of 4:18.43.

Sam McHugh took the C final with a  4:21.90. McHugh and Robert Owen were dead tied at the halfway point going into breaststroke with 2:05.55 as Owen ended up third with a time of 4:25.30.

A Final: Tyler Clary, Swim MAC/Michigan, 4:09.51, Lane 5

B Final: Gunnar Bentz, Dynamo, 4:15.24, Lane 5

C Final: Sam McHugh, Bay-SE, 4:21.90, Lane 4
