Free and IM specialist Bethany Glen has announced her intention to continue her academic and athletic careers at Queens University of Charlotte beginning in the 2022-2023 season. Glen is a year-round swimmer at the Empire KC Swim Club.

Glen most recently competed at the Speedo Sectionals in Jenks, OK, where she went personal best times in 4 races. She swam the 200, 400, and 800-meter free, the 100 and 200-meter breast, and the 200-meter IM. She made it back for finals swims in the 200 IM and the 200 and 400 free, and she touched fourth in the 800 free.
She is a 2021 Futures qualifier in the 100 and 500-yard free and the 200-yard IM. She competed at the 2019 Futures Championships in Des Moines, IA. Glen touched 54th in the 200 free, 37th in the 800, and 28th in the 1500 free. She picked up personal best times in the 800 and 1500-meter free.

The Royals were the 2021 Bluegrass Mountain Conference champions, for their 7th consecutive conference title. Queens boasted the top point-scorers at the conference champs, with 7 of the top 8 women being Royals. The women’s team also claimed its sixth straight NCAA DII National Championship title in March.
Glen’s times would have placed her in the A-finals of the 200 free and 400 IM, the B-finals of the 100 free and 200 IM, and within the top 8 of the 1000 at the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships. When she arrives on campus in the fall of 2022, Glen will be a member of Queens University’s of 2026.
