How It Happened
Rhode Island won its 14th straight team title at the Harold Anderson Invitational, finishing well out in front of the seven-team field. The Rams finished with 754.5 points, easily ahead of Binghamton (613.5). Vermont (579), Holy Cross (576) and Assumption (503) were bunched together in the middle of the pack.

Day Three of the Invitational featured six events. Rhody got one individual title, as senior Caitlin Guccione won the 200-yard butterfly by nearly two seconds over the rest of the field.

Rhode Island’s depth in the 200-yard breaststroke played a key role, as the Rams claimed three of the top eight spots. Senior Cassidy Fries placed second and was just .69 seconds behind Maine’s Caroline Strolic. Junior Rebecca Younts placed third and freshman Aimee Garcia added an eighth-place finish to help the Rams scored 44 team points in the event.
