The psych sheets for the 2015 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships have been updated after a scratch from Pitt freshman Amanda Richey. Richey was scheduled to swim the 500 free (4:45.75 – 58th seed) and 1650 free (16:15.84 – 34th seed), but has been removed from the psych sheets. That will leave her teammate Kaleigh Ritter, in the same two events, as the only Panther in the meet.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s roster grew to 6 individuals, as Maria Carlson was invited as the meet’s first alternate, thanks to a 1:00.74 in the 100 yard breaststroke. She will now be the 39th seed in that event, and added as a bonus event the 200 breaststroke, where she’s the 45th seed in 2:11.73.
While Carlson is the Badgers’ only breaststroker to qualify for NCAA’s individually, Anna Meinholz was actually the breaststroker who swam on Wisconsin’s top medley relays this season. Now, head coach Whitney Hite will have his choice between the two on race-day to decide who was swimming best.
Georgia, who now has 18 swimmers and 1 diver qualified for the NCAA Championships, have still not announced a decision on trimming their roster below the cap.
