There were a handful of Meet Records broken this season. Liberty’s Warren Briggs raced to a new Meet Record in the 200 free. He took half a second off his best with a 1:38.18, smashing the former mark of 1:39.87 set by Columbia River’s Josh Bottelberghe in 2017. Briggs, a Pittsburgh commit, set his 2nd Meet Record in the 500 free with a 4:27.66. That broke the record set by Renton’s Steve Sholdra at a 4:28.18 in 2012.
Olympic’s Dietrich Meyer also set a Meet Record. In the 100 free, Meyer clipped his best with a 46.36. That broke his former mark of 46.42 from last season. Meyer swept the sprints, breaking 21 for the first time to win the 50 free in 20.93. Olympic made it a 3-event streak, as teammate Ryan Burchell won the 100 fly with a 52.04 between Meyer’s events. Burchell dropped over 3 seconds in that race at this meet.
Anacortes’ Jacob Hoxie was also an individual event winner. Hoxie broke 58 for the first time at this meet. He lowered his best to a 57.68 to take the title.
