Construction of the new aquatics center at Cal is well underway, and the Cal men’s swimming & diving page has posted progress pictures.
The Cal Aquatics Legends, an alumni donor group, is funding the $15-million project that will have an outdoor 50-meter by 25-yard pool, plus a new platform diving facility. Until now, Cal’s divers have had to train on the diving tower at Stanford University.
The pool will also include seating for 500 spectators.
d is expected to be completed late this summer in time for the majority of the 2016-2017 NCAA swimming season. Besides the new platform, the pool will alleviate the strain on the existing Spieker Aquatics Complex pool, which is a 50-meter, all-deep pool. That pool is now 35-years old, and supports the Cal men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams, plus Cal’s nationally-ranked men’s and women’s water polo teams.
Photos of the current progress were posted today on the Cal Men’s Swimming & Diving Facebook page. See those photos below.

Anyone know how deep the pool is across its length. Diving end looks like at least 12 ft, maybe 15. How about the other end?
