Full day 3 finals recap.
10 things we noticed on day 3 of the 2014 U.S. Junior Nationals.
Tim Binning was back on deck on Friday at the 2014 U.S. Junior National Swimming Championships to capture all of the key moments from four races: the girls’ 400 free, the boys’ 400 free, the girls’ 100 fly, and the boys’ 100 fly.

Stanford commit Brock Turner took 3rd in the boys’ 400 free with a new lifetime best of 3:53.89. Not a win, but it was still good enough for a fist pump. (Courtesy: Tim Binning/TheSwimPictures.com)

Nitro’s Sean Grieshop also thumped his own lifetime best, by a total of three seconds between prelims and finals, on Saturday. That put him 2nd at the 2014 U.S. Junior Nationals. (Courtesy: Tim Binning/TheSwimPictures.com)

Townley Haas, meanwhile, just missed his lifetime best and Meet Record by .02 seconds – a 3:52.01 – to win his second-straight 400 free at Junior Nationals. (Courtesy: Tim Binning/TheSwimPictures.com)

A big thanks to Tim for taking these beautiful shots – since we can’t be there to watch our daughter, any glimpse we can get is so appreciated!
I’ve remarked that Chenoa Devine who was in lane 4 of the 400 free B-Final has applauded each of her opponents during the lane announcement before the start. Great attitude.
Other remark. Sierra Schmidt has showed her dance talents behind the blocks. 🙂
And she won the race a few minutes later.
