Danish swimmer Pernille Blume broke her own National Record in the 50 freestyle. She swam a 24.00 in the race, which broke her own record of 24.05 from the semi-finals.
Blume first broke this record in the prelims of the Olympics last season after it had stood for more than two years. Blume has now lowered that mark four times, for a total of four-tenths of a second, in the year since.
- Blume – 24.00 (July 30th, 2017)
- Blume – 24.05 (July 29th, 2017)
- Blume – 24.07 (August 13th, 2016)
- Blume – 24.23 (August 12th, 2016)
- Jeanette Ottesen – 24.40 (June 14th, 2014)
Blume has also broken national records in the 100 free (52.69) en route to a bronze medal.
A great week for Blume who just happens to swim in some very competitive events. It’s good to see the progression.
