Pepperdine’s Taylor Basin Named PCSC Athlete Of The Week

Taylor Basin of the Pepperdine women’s swim and dive team has been named the Pacific Coast Swim and Dive Conference Division 1 Athlete of the Week. She is the third Wave on the year to earn the award, joining Amy Griffin, who collected the award on Oct. 10, and Julia Sneden, who earned the honor on Nov. 8.

Basin was the Waves’ top scorer in their dual meet with San Diego State on Dec. 1. She placed 2nd in 3mtr diving with a personal best score of 187.27 and 4th in 1mtr diving with a season best score of 218.10. Basin was the top Wave in each event. This is the first time in her career that she has been named Athlete of the Week.

The Waves return to action after the New Year begins, with a dual meet with Manhattan University on Jan. 5.
