PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving honors for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 12.

 

Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Marek Osina * So. * East Carolina

Osina claimed wins in the 200 freestyle (1:40.83), the 200 backstroke (1:48.20) and the 200 IM (1:50.63), adding a victory as a member of the 200 medley relay team in a dual meet against South Carolina.

Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Felicia Anderson * Sr. * SMU

Anderson secured three wins and fashioned top performances in the 200 backstroke (2:00.16) and the 100 backstroke (:55.03) in dual action against No. 19 Texas A&M and Rice to open the spring semester.

Men’s Diver of the Week

Rodrigo Romero * Fr. * East Carolina

Romero was victorious in the 1-meter dive with 339.00 points and became the first diver in program history to score over 400 points with a 440.50-point effort in a runner-up showing in the 3-meter dive against South Carolina.

Women’s Diver of the Week

Claire Schuermann * Sr. * Cincinnati

Schuermann swept the field in the 1-meter dive with 285.15 points and the 3-meter dive with 296.30 points against both Oakland and Kenyon College during the Cincinnati Invite.
