The Seychelles provided the idyllic background to the second race of the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series 2019 today, Sunday May 12, as France’s Marc-Antoine Olivier, current World champion in the 10km, and World Series star Arianna Bridi of Italy claimed respectively the men and women’s races victory.
Olivier clocked a time of 1h56m02s00 and was closely followed by Nicholas Sloman. The Australian finished the second fastest in 1h56m04s10, while Hungary’s Kristof Rasovszky closed the podium in 1h56m04s30.
Olympic title holder Ferry Weertman of the Netherlands came fourth in 1h56m04s80.
World bronze medalist (10km) and World Series 2018 winner Ana Marcela seconded Bridi in the women’s race this morning, as she touched home in 2h01m34s10, against 2h01m33s90 for the Italian veteran. France’s Lara Grangeon claimed her first bronze medal ever in the circuit in 2h01m41s10.
World Series 2017 overall winner Rachele Bruni (ITA, 2h01m41s70) secured the fourth place today while World champion (10km) Aurelie Muller from France was fifth (2h01m44s.40)

The Series resumes on June 8 in Setubal (POR) for the third-out-of-nine leg, before heading to Hungary and Canada.
