The challenge has been thrown down. After the Princeton men released their “Teenage Dream” music video last year that went viral, the Ohio State women’s coaching staff has come out with a music video of their own. The Buckeye women have gone with a more traditional musical selection with an interpretation of AC/DC’s “TNT”.
Which do you think is better? Have to give the Bucks big points for cinematography (how do they swim so fast going backwards?) and demonstration of pure athleticism, though the Tigers score high marks for the quality of their lip-syncing. Both, of course, have artistically incorporated shower scenes and some all-around awesome choreography.
The Ohio State video does bring up some interesting philisophical questions. Can you play air-guitar underwater? Is this the first ever water-guitar? Is an air guitar played underwater just an underwater air guitar, or is it transformed into a water guitar? And is it even safe to play an electric guitar underwater? We’ll leave it to you to decide. Check them out below.
This Just In….
By popular demand, here’s another video from the Ohio State women, done last year. This one steps the game up with multiple shower scenes. The song in this video is LMFAO’s “Yes”.
Princeton’s video actually meant something to an extremely sick swimmer – hence ‘Get Better Hasler’….OSUs was not even in the same category as Princeton’s. IM sure OSU had a great time making the videos as it looks fun but the quality of the videos is so far apart from PU that to compare is almost childish. Underwater guitar was very original though! But objectively Princeton’s was infinitely better.
1. Princeton men
2. Ohio State women
3. Ohio state coaches
Princeton wins this going away for several reasons, number 1 being the lip-syncing and choreography. It doesn’t hurt that the end of the video is a shower scene with the whole team going crazy dancing and singing their hearts out to Katy Perry, and to top it all off, it’s a get well soon to one of their really sick teammates.
This is hilarious! Great job bucks!
This wasn’t the first video Ohio State Women’s Swimming has published. I think OSU gets props because the coaches made the TNT video, not the swimmers. The swimmers did a video to LMFAO’s “Yes”.

OSU wins because both the swimmers AND the coaches made kick-ass videos separately.
