Krista Traub has been added as an assistant coach of the New York University men’s and women’s swimming teams. She will be assisting Head Coach Trevor Miele in all facets of the program.
Traub brings more than seven years of coaching experience to her new position. Since 2009, she has been working as a private swim instructor and supervisor in Torrington, CT. Traub has been training youngsters how to swim with proper technique in order to gain the best results.
“I’m excited to be back at NYU and being part of the team again,” Traub said. “I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with all of the current team members.”
Traub also has significant experience as a lifeguard, having worked in that capacity for five years in Torrington and three years at NYU’s Palladium Athletic Facility.
A 2016 NYU graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, Traub was a four-year member of the women’s swimming & diving team. A two-time NCAA All-American, she also served two seasons as a team captain. While at NYU, Traub served as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, acting as a liaison between students and the school, and was an Athletics Transition Coach, helping freshman and seniors alike acclimate to becoming a student-athlete.
“As an NYU grad and former NCAA All-American, Krista has extensive knowledge of the sport, our training program and the University,” said Head Coach Trevor Miele. “I believe she will be a great addition to the staff. I’m thrilled to have her on board and am looking forward to seeing the impact she will make with the swimmers.”
Traub’s work experience also includes years of nursing duties, including time spent in the medical-surgical, communal, pediatric, maternal, and psychiatric fields. She currently works for Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York LLC.
