(NLI Photos) Alabama gets rising sprinter DJ Lang

Dennis “DJ” Lang III signed an NLI this week to join Alabama and the Crimson Tide. Lang swims for Denton High School in Denton, Texas as well as Lakeside Aquatic Club.

Lang has only been a competitive swimmer for about 5 years – he started swimming in junior high and has shown a steep improvement curve thus far. He’s a strong freestyler across multiple distances, holding lifetime bests of 21.58 in the 50, 46.51 in the 100, and 1:42.21 in the 200.

Lang would appear to have some big upside for Alabama if his current trajectory keeps up, which is what the Crimson Tide need to make a move in the always-stout SEC.

DJ is such a great kid and competitor. I had the pleasure of racing him once. He came up to me and gave me the firmest handshake possible.

Congrats Dennis
