NJIT men’s swimming and diving swept St. Francis Brooklyn and Manhattan on Sunday night, earning nine first place finishes in 11 events.
The Highlanders (4-5) defeated the Terriers 163-44 and the Jaspers 154-62.
The Highlanders took first in both relays, with Scott Quirie, Nicholas Lyons, Alex Danielson, Tyler Pollockswimming the 200 medley in 1:39.37 and Jack Matusiak, JT Morehead, Jake Haefner and Matheus Monteiro Montarroyos winning the 400 free.
Seniors Montarroyos and Quirie each posted two more individual event wins.
Montarroyos and the Highlanders earned first, second and third in the 50 free, with Montarroyos coming in at 22.17, followed by Lyons (22.22) and Pollock (22.33).
Montarroyos also grabbed a win in the 500 free finishing in 4:50.77.
Quirie scored wins in both the 200 IM (1:59.68) and the 100 back (54.24).
NJIT also finished first and second in three more events, including the 100 fly, the 100 free and 100 breast.
In the 100 fly, Danielson and Roberton finished one, two coming in at 55.83 and 56.08 respectively.
Senior Matusiak and Pollock did the same thing in the 100 free, with Matusiak swimming in 49.33 and Pollock in 49.54.
Lastly in the 100 breast Lyons placed first finishing in 59.51, and Danielson placed second coming in 1:03.16.
Next, the Highlanders will try for their third consecutive win at the ECAC Winter Championship that will take place on December 1-3 in East Meadow, NY.
