The Missouri Tiger men will be getting a mid-season addition to their team, as Peruvian Gustavo Gutierrez Lozano is set to join the team in January 2017. Lozano currently trains with Nitro Swimming in Texas, where he’s been based since 2015, so he does have some yards experience under his belt as he heads off to Mizzou. His best events are the distance freestyles, butterflies, and 400 IM.
Lozano has represented Peru internationally at a handful of high-level meets. He’s had success in both pool competition and in open water competition. Among the meets he’s swum for Peru are the 2016 U.S. Open Water National Championships, 2016 Junior World Open Water Championships, and the 2016 South American Swimming Championships.
Lozano’s Top Times:

Lozano is the 3rd swimmer from Nitro Swimming to commit to Missouri this season, with 2 of his teammates joining as Tigers when they arrive in Fall 2017. One of those teammates is Matt Connealy, a sprint freestyler and 100 back/butterflier. The other is Ryan Geheb, who specializes in the breaststrokes and 200 IM. All 3 of them qualified to compete at Speedo Winter Junior Nationals.
