The Netherlands, Hungary Lead Pools In Women’s Water Polo World League

The Netherlands narrowly defeated Greece last night in Nijverdal (NED) at the fourth round of the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League 2017. The Dutch scored on 10 occasions, while Greece hit the net 9 times (4-2, 3-3, 1-3, 2-1).

In the Group B’s game, Hungary claimed victory 15-4, giving very few opportunities to France.

With these wins both the Netherlands and Hungary are leading their respective groups.

Current ranking after round 4

GROUP A: NED 5pts (1W, 1Wp, 1L); GRE 4pts (1W, 1Lp, 1L); RUS 3pts (1W, 1L)
GROUP B: HUN 8pts (2W 1Wp); ITA 4pts (1W, 1Lp); FRA 0pt (3L)

The fifth and penultimate European round of the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League 2017 will be played on March 28. Russia will play the Dutch in Moscow, while Italy will meet France in Montreuil (FRA).
