The third night of NCSA Junior Nationals is underway, with Gunnar Bentz now arrived and in the hunt for two titles. In addition Janet Hu, Simone Manuel, Carsten Vissering, Alexis Wenger and Michael Andrew all look to follow up on NAG records from a night ago.
Events tonight are the 200 free, 50 breast, 400 IM, 50 fly and 400 free relays.

Girls 200 Free
Results of the girls 200 free are not complete on Meet Mobile. We’ll have a recap when full results are available.
Boys 200 Free
Francis Haas won his third event in as many nights by taking the 200 free in 1:35.26. After barely breaking his career best this morning, Haas was way under it in finals for NOVA. Tristan Sanders of Palm Harbor YMCA rolled into second, going 1:36.42, a lifetime-best of his own.
Sanders just beat out Liam Egan of Crimson Aquatics. Egan took third in 1:36.79, the last 1:36 of the championship heat. Michigan high schooler Nick Arakelian was 1:37.08 for fourth and Jack Boyd moved up to fifth for Sweet Home Aquatics, just beating Knox Auerbach from Dynamo 1:37.65 to 1:37.68.
James Murphy of Machine and Nicholas Bigot from North Bay rounded out the heat at 1:38s. From the “B” heat, Michael Andrew broke his second NAG of the weekend, going 1:38.31 for the top 13-14 mark of all-time.
Girls 50 Breast
Samantha Senczyszyn moved up from the 2-seed to win the girls 50 breast. The Ozaukee (Wisconsin) product went 28.08 to take another half-second off her prelims swim after winning the 100 breast last night. Her northern neighbor Olivia Anderson (Aquajets of Minnesota) took second at 28.19.
Those two raced out ahead of the rest of the field, which tightened up from there. Top seed Ingrid Wall of New Trier went 28.50, just ahead of 13-year-old Alexis Wenger (28.54) of Grosse Point. Molly Washko and Jamie Christy dueled it out behind them, with Washko taking fifth in 28.74 to Christy’s 28.79.
Anderson’s Aquajets teammate Rae Bullinger took seventh with Natalie Pierce rounding out the field for Birmingham-Bloomfield of Michigan.
The B final went to St. Charles’ Shea Hoyt in 28.66, the fifth-fastest time overall. Janet Hu was also in that heat, tying for 15th place in 29.43.
Boys 50 Breast
Conner Hoppe out of Clovis took home the NCSA title in a time of 24.57. Hoppe was seeded second heading into finals and out-touched Nation Capitols’ Carsten Vissering, who finished second in 24.76. Michael Andrew, the evenings top seed, took a third place finish in 24.96.
The B-Final saw Nicholas Lamontagne take the top spot, touching in 25.40. Ben Gorski (Arlington Aquatic Club) took second in 25.48 followed by Shane McNamara (Empire Swimming) who finished third at 25.51.
Girls 400 IM
Results from the Girls 400 IM will be delayed as Meet Mobile continues to have issues. We’ll have a recap up when full results become available.

It seems that your Meet Mobile doesn’t work very well at certain times. 🙂
I would have liked they also use the old system of Hy-Tek real time results for that meet.

Over 400 entries in the girls 50 fly today, this meet must be painful to sit through.
How come the Litherland brothers aren’t swimming at the meet?
NCAP’s A team wins the boys 400 free relay. Seliskar led off with a 44. 42, just off his personal best. James Jones split a 43.63. 2:57.83 total. Dynamo takes second, and NCAP-B gets third.
Where is James Jones going to school at?
If you mean high school, he’s a sophomore at James W. Robinson in Fairfax, VA. If you mean college, well, he’s a high sophomore. 🙂

Yeah. And Robinson has another sophomore, James Murphy, who swims for Machine and is swimming at NCSA too. Between the two of them, they swept the freestyle events at the Virginia 6A meet a month ago.
