NC State Earns Verbal from 5x Virginia HS Champ, Olivia Fisher

Five-time Virginia 5A state champion, Olivia Fisher from Poseidon Swimming, has given her verbal commitment to swim for North Carolina State next fall.

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim for North Carolina State University. This is a dream come true and I want to thank all my supporters, family, friends, teachers, and coaches for helping me get to this point. NC State has the perfect combination of academics and swimming that would be impossible to turn down.  The coaching staff and team are so welcoming and passionate, and I cannot wait to be a member of the Wolfpack. Go Pack!”

Fisher, a senior at Atlee High School in Mechanicsville, Virginia, is the reigning Virginia 5A State Champion and record-holder in the 100 breast. She also won the 50 free and 100 free her freshman and sophomore years. Fisher is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.

Fisher was a top-8 finisher in the 200 IM at 2016 NCSA Spring Championships; she also placed 13th in the 50 breast and 19th in the 100 breast. Her top SCY times include:

  • 50 Free – 23.35
  • 100 Free – 50.87
  • 200 Free – 1:50.26
  • 50 Breast –29.21
  • 100 Breast –1:02.51
  • 200 Breast – 2:17.76
  • 200 IM – 2:01.90

The Wolfpack has begun to assemble a stellar class of 2021. Joining Fisher will be fellow-commits Kate Moore, Julia Poole, Olivia Calegan, and Danika Huizinga.
