Mike Lewis takes great pics. Allison Schmitt looks like a swimsuit model.

MP press conference was great! MP’s joy of what he is doing really came through. I hope the best for him – he is definitely a contributor and ambassador for the sport.
I see where Universal Sports will interrupt their programming today to present to the viewing audience MP’s swim! Never seen that happen before!

Where is Agnel?
Big Venezuela team!
The girl on the right of the 4th picture is Cierra Runge. That’s right? She looks very tall!

Weird.
It looks like Yannick Agnel isn’t in Mesa.
He’s in the psych sheet but not today in the prelims heat sheet.

Anyone have a link to the press conference video? Not seeing it archived on the USA Swimming site.

It’s basically 6 minutes of Michael Phelps saying he’s having fun, with a few questions from reporters dispersed throughout.

Hearing Michael’s press conference has gotten me really excited for his comeback. At first I wasn’t really sure what his motives were. Money? Unfinished Goals? However, listening to the press conference, Michael truly loves and misses the sport. I’ve honestly never heard an interview where he has expressed this love. He seems like he is having fun and enjoying swimming, something that we saw a glimmer of in London, but still not a 100%. This was the most relaxed, and fun, I’ve ever seen Michael Phelps be.

agree!! I actually think this press conference was the best thing he could have done for swimming. When he retired, he made it seem like he hated swimming and couldn’t wait to get onto the golf course. But after hearing him express how much he LOVES swimming, how much he missed it, how much fun he’s having…that’s the way he should have left the sport. And when he does…eventually…he will. I’m so so excited. It’s also incredible because he’s going to be competing against kids who idolized him as a child….kids who started swimming because of him. To see his impact…and making swimming “cool”…I can’t wait!
