This weekend in Orlando at the Arena Pro Swim Series, Nathan Adrian put up times that most can’t go when they’re shaved and tapered. 21.7 in the 50, and a walloping 48.0 in the 100 to completely toast the field, and even best the time he was able to put up in the finals of this past summers World Championships.
Adrian commented that he has been doing work in training focused specifically on the 100, and that it’s relieving to see it finally pay off in a race. Being that defending olympic champion in the event, one would think that Adrian is not only focused on that race, but also feeling pressure to defend his gold medal from London.
When asked about it, Adrian’s answer is comforting, and gives insight into the mindset it takes to have success on the level that he has. Nathan relays to us that he keeps a decent amount of pressure on himself at all times to put up top performances, and that if he’s able to tune out the rest, the hard work should show through his races.
Keep up the GREAT WORK man ur doing America F$&@ing PROUD!!!!!!
