Missy Franklin completes her first year with the Cal Golden Bears, and she loved the process.
Franklin, a 5-time Olympic medalist from the 2012 Olympic Games in London, chose not to turn pro and compete at the college level. Franklin’s takeaway:

“NCAA Champs was so hard, but it was the most rewarding three days. This season I’ve learned so much about myself, and whether it’s through school or swimming, I’ve become so tough, especially being at Cal… I am so proud of my team for being tough. We got knocked down a few times, but we always got back up. I’m so proud of that, and to be a Golden Bear, and to be finished with my first NCAAs… It went by so fast! I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve had the time of my life.”

No, no. I’m really serious.
After a college season almost entirely focused on freestyle with much success in terms of times, I’ve some concerns about her backstroke.
Not in the 200. It’s her baby race and she’s unbeatable in that event in long course as long as she swims it.
But in the 100, nothing is sure. Hopefully in the next weeks until August she forgets a little freestyle in training to focus on backstroke, especially speed and the technical parts she doesn’t control very well in that event like the starts, the turns and the underwaters.
