Minnesota, Tampa Compete In Non-Scored Off-Distance Dual; Spartans Honor Seniors

MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Minnesota men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams traveled to the University of Tampa Thursday for a dual meet with the Spartans.

The meet was not scored, and the teams swam “off-distances” that included a 50/150/300 of each stroke and 100/300 IM in addition to the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay.

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s and women’s swimming teams competed in their final home meet of the 2022-23 season, hosting the University of Minnesota in a non-scoring meet.

The teams swam “off-distances” that included a 50/150/300 of each stroke and 100/300 IM in addition to the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay.

Tampa, whose women are ranked No. 4 and men No. 6 in the nation in NCAA Division II, met a program that is ranked No. 25 (men) and No. 23 (women) in the Division I ranks.

Prior to the meet, UT honored its nine seniors who competed in their final home meet at the Benson Riseman Aquatics Center. Those included Julia AugustssonMadi LaugerJohanna KoetherAlli McFarlandCarlee Sanchez-Hegarty and Alexa Turco from the women’s squad. Seniors from the men’s team included Santiago AguileraHayden Curley and Melker Olsson.
