Milak Shatters 100 Fly Junior World Record, Moves To 10th All-Time

After first breaking it this morning in 51.23, Hungarian Kristof Milak again broke the Junior world record tonight in the semi-finals of the 100 fly.

In the heats he cracked Li Zhuhao‘s mark by just 0.01, but tonight he absolutely obliterated his mark in a time of 50.77. The swim also breaks the Hungarian national record, taking down Laszlo Cseh‘s 50.86 from the 2016 European Championships.

He becomes the 10th fastest performer in history, as James Guy also added his name to the list from the same semi-final in a new British record of 50.67.

Milak also holds the Junior world record in the 200 fly, set at the European Junior Championships in 1:53.79. He also won silver in the 100 fly there in 51.49, improving nearly three quarters of a second in less than a month.

Heading to the final, Caeleb Dressel leads the pack clearly at 50.07, with Guy, Milak and Joseph Schooling (50.78) all bunched up in 2nd through 4th position.

On both fly.. with 1 year less than MP.. next year a 50 low 1,52 mediu high?

tomorrow 50 low, August 1.52 medium would be more adequate, considering the speed if his progress
