Michigan D3 State Champ Karlee Marsh Gives Verbal to In-State Oakland

Tecumseh, Michigan’s Karlee Marsh has verbally committed to Oakland University for 2017-18. Marsh is a senior at Tecumseh High School who specializes mainly in freestyle and backstroke. She is the reigning MHSAA Girls D3 champion in the 100 free.

“I’m very happy to announce my verbal commitment to Oakland University! I can’t wait to continue my swim career at a university where I know I will be pushed hard to reach my goals. I’m so excited for these next four years! #goldengrizzly “

Marsh was a big part of Tecumseh’s fifth-place team finish at last November’s 2015 MHSAA Girls D3 Swim & Dive Championships. She won the 100 free by 1.5 seconds with a personal-best 51.80 and took second in the 200 free with 1:54.24, also a PB. She also swam a leg on the fourth-place 200 free relay and anchored the sixth-place 400 free relay.

Outside of high school swimming, Marsh represents Southern Michigan Aquatic Club. At the Michigan LSC Championships in March, she placed seventh in both the 50/100y freestyle events; she also competed in the 500 free and the 100y back. This summer she competed in the 50/200m free and 100m back at Columbus Sectionals, then in the 50/100m free and 100m fly at Atlanta Futures. Her best SCY times are:

  • 50 free – 24.53
  • 100 free – 51.80
  • 200 free – 1:54.24
  • 500 free – 5:17.00
