Tonight’s final sessions of day three of the U.S. Paralympic Trials ended with 3 new American records and one new World Record.
Michelle Konkoly rebroke the World Record that she set this morning in the S9 class women’s 50 m freestyle. She clocked in at 28.24, a hundredth of a second faster than her time this morning. Fellow competitors Tucker Dupree and Alyssa Gialamas also posted new American and Pan American records. Dupree broke both the American and Pan American records in the S12 class men’s 50 m freestyle. He finished with a time of 24.03. In addition to multiple first place finished, Gialamas broke the American and Pan American records in the S5 class women’s 50 m backstroke. She dropped a full second from her prelims time, coming in at 47.47.
Competition will resume tomorrow morning in Charlotte with the preliminary session, which begins at 9 am eastern time.
