Just in time for the short course season to ramp up, now a new dryland training system is available for purchase! This system is guaranteed to make you feel like Michael Phelps!

That’s right, today is the drop-date for the Michael Phelps: Push the Limit video game designed for XBox 360 Kinect. The game can be purchased for $49.99 on Amazon.com or at Game Stop retail locations.

The Kinect system, for those unfamiliar, utilizes web-cam style motion sensors to detect what a player is doing in front of the screen, meaning that there’s no controller like you typically see in a video game. When you stroke, Michael strokes. When you dive, Michael dives. When you clap your triceps…nothing happens (a cool potential feature for a sequel).

These types of games, similar to those available on Nintendo’s Wii system, have revolutionized video games. Though this game is not a substitute for real laps in the pool, it exposes a huge audience to the sport of swimming and helps reverse the trend of the sedentary gamer to an active, and interactive, exercise.

Check out the trailer below that shows how the game works, starring the man himself.
