Eighteen time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps went live on his Facebook page last night, answering questions from fans while driving to the airport in Arizona to fly back to Colorado Springs for a few more weeks of altitude training. He also takes us into the private plane he was taking to Colorado just before takeoff.

Also making an appearance in the video was Phelps’ fiancee Nicole Johnson, his roommate/training partner Allison Schmitt, longtime coach Bob Bowman, and his newly born son, Boomer Robert Phelps.

In the car Phelps answers questions from fans such as his favorite places to go in Baltimore, what he thinks he’ll be swimming at an upcoming meet in Austin, and his favorite sports to watch. He also touches on the difficulty of maintaining his weight, especially while at training camp in Colorado. Phelps also receives the question of whether or not he’ll write another book, and he leans toward yes, with the response “there’s so much more that needs to be told“.

Nicole answers a few questions including that she’ll be brining Boomer to Rio, she’s had a relatively easy recovery from the birth, and that her and Michael originally met at the ESPY awards in 2007.

Allison shares her Olympic Trials schedule of the 100, 200, and 400 freestyle.

Boomer makes an appearance once they arrive at the airport, fast asleep. Bob also makes an appearance near the end, as they onto the plane together.

Phelps, Schmitt and Bowman will train in Colorado for two more weeks and then head to Austin for a meet, and then the Olympic Trials are right around the corner.
