Michael Phelps Gives Us a Sneak Peek at the New “MP” Line of Suits from Aqua Sphere

As we get closer to April, and thus the launch of Michael Phelps’ new “MP” line of suits from Aqua Sphere (as we reported here), we are starting to get a better idea of what the suits will look like. First, Phelps unveiled details about the partnership’s suit, including its logo, at Germany’s Internationale Fachmesse für Sportartikel Und Sportmode (ISPO) trade show in February.

Today, Phelps posted a photo on his Facebook page of himself in the actual suit, giving us a first glance at what at least one model of the Aqua Sphere “MP” suits will look like.

The rest of the line, including training equipment and a technical suit, is expected to be released sometime next month.

It wasn’t a jab at MP. I meant in terms of following what Michael Jordan did with Nike and creating an everlasting legacy even outside the competition element of the sport.

Tiger Woods also has his own line and logo with Nike, as does Roger Federer in tennis with Wilson.

How recent is this photo? MP looks in pretty decent shape. Can’t wait to see him race properly again.

I think that picture was taken today at MeadowBrook but I could be wrong

Don’t you think he looks a little thin? He looked bigger in Beijing. I could be wrong…..anyone else?

If you go back and watch the Beijing races he was relatively thin compared to what he is now which isn’t surprising because he was tapered and probably hadn’t been doing any dry land for quiet sometime leading up to that.

To me he looks like he’s been hitting the dry land pretty hard and has bulked up a bit through the arms and shoulders. He is lean which hopefully translate into a consistent training routine, but we’ll find out next month where he’s at. He looked really good in the SCY exhibition earlier this month, but you can fake SCY considering most of the race is spent underwater. You can’t fake LCM.

I’ll have to go back and look at photos from 08. His body fat just seems so low. Thanks, Justin!

I agree, very low body fat, but he seemed slightly bulkier ’08-’12 compared with now, no?

No, he was a lot thinner in Beijing. Too thin I thought. He looks great here.
