Day two of the NCAA Men’s water polo championships at U.C. San Diego’s Canyonview pool pitted the UCSD Tritons against the Stanford Cardinal in the consolation game. After a hard battle against USC in the semi finals Stanford regrouped and topped the Tritons 20-11. Stanford’s Bret Bonanni was the leading scorer with 8 goals.
In the championship match SoCal rivals UCLA matched up against USC in front of a jam packed crowd. It came down to the wire with the UCLA Bruins scoring the winning goal with :34 seconds left in the game to win 9-8.
