Men’s Euro Cup, Eight-Finals Leg 2 Preview: Six Duels Remain Open

Courtesy: LEN

Despite only one team playing at home a week ago could gain advantage, most of the duels are still open in the eight-finals of the Euro Cup.

Playing at home was anything but an advantage in the first leg of the Euro Cup – only one team could win in its pool, Radnicki (SRB), with a single goal so the Serbs’ appearance in Strasbourg promises more excitements.

Two encounters ended in a draw – one happened in Belgrade so the other Serbian side Novi Beograd faces some heated moments in Athens while playing with Vouliagmeni. The all-Spanish derby featuring Mediterrani and Sabadell also starts from ‘ground zero’.

In the remaining matches teams playing now at home all began from a favoured position, though only the two Hungarians, OSC and Szolnok are fully secured as they both claimed 10+ goals victories. Crvena Zvezda (SRB) may also enjoy a less tense game against Tourcoing as the Serbs won by three goals in France. At the same time Mladost (CRO) has to keep its focus against CN Barcelona (ESP) despite a fine two-goal victory and the Russians’ clash in Moscow can also offer some excitements as Sintez could come back from –4 to –2 to save some hope for this Saturday.
