OXFORD, Ohio—Miami University women’s swimming and diving team is back in action as they face cross-state rival Ohio University in their last regular-season meet before the Mid-American Conference Championships at 1 p.m. in the Ohio University Aquatic Center.
The RedHawks look to finish out the year at 7-2, with their only losses at the hands of Big 10 teams Purdue and Ohio State.
Last Saturday against Toledo, seven seniors–Katie Bootsma, Courtney Collett, Emma Craig, Caitlin Fujan, Annie Marquiss, Whitney Mitchell and Stephanie Pearce–were honored before the meet, which was the last home matchup of the season.
Miami was led by nine individual victories and first-place finishes in both the 400-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
Sophomores Stephanie LeMire and Pei Lin both won two individual events. LeMire won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.20) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.31). Lin won both the one- (312.60) and three-meter dives (300.29).
The Bobcats are 2-6 on the year in dual meets, with their last being a 155-143 loss to West Virginia on Jan. 31. Ohio also competed in the H2Okie Invitational onNov. 20-22, where they finished sixth out of seven teams. The Bobcats are led by first-year head coach Rachel Komisarz-Baugh.
