Matthew Lattin & Logan Davis Add To Air Force Class Of 2022

Matthew Lattin of Brentwood, TN and Logan Davis (pictured above) of Southlake, TX have announced their commitment to join the United States Air Force Academy for the 2018-2019 season. They will join Aaron Pang, Corey Shepard, David Gray, Isaac Gwin, Luke Gwinand Tory Bartlett

“After considering several great programs from across the country I chose the Air Force Academy because I loved the team atmosphere and coaching staff. I was impressed with the campus, the focus on academic excellence, and I look forward to serving my country. Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, and family who have supported me.”

At the 2018 TISCA TN High School Championships, Lattin put up two 2nd place finishes in the 200 free with a 1:40.60 (1:40.31 in prelims) and 100 free with a 45.30. He was also integral in Brentwood’s 10th place 200 free relay with a 20.95 leadoff leg (20.33 anchor split in prelims) and 10th place 400 free relay with a 45.26 leadoff leg.

On the national stage, Lattin recently represented Ensworth Aquatics at the 2017 Speedo Winter Junior Championships (East) where he posted times of 44.91 in the 100 free and 1:39.27 in the 200 free.

Both his 100 and 200 free best times would have been top 3 on on the Air Force roster last season, while his 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 IM would have been top 5.

Logan Davis – North Texas Nadadores & Southlake Carroll

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to swim for the U.S. Air Force Academy! Grateful for everyone who helped me reach my goals!”

At the 2018 UIL Texas 6A State Championships, Davis helped propel Southlake Carroll to a team title with some solid performances. He picked up a pair of 6th places finishes in the 100 fly with a 49.21 (49.11 in prelims) and 100 breast with a 56.56 (56.28 in prelims). He also split a 20.59 on Southlake Carroll’s victorious 200 free relay and split a 25.64 breaststroke leg on their 4th place 200 medley relay.

Nationally, he recently represented the North Texas Nadadores at the 2017 Speedo Winter Junior Championships (West) with a pair of top 8 finishes in the 200 fly (1:47.89) and 400 IM (3:55.83 – 3:54.70 in prelims).

His best times in the 100/200 fly and 200/400 IM would have all been top 3 on the Air Force roster last season.
