CYAC swimmer Elizabeth Kelly has decided to stay in-state and committed to swim for the University of Mary Washington.
“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to the University of Mary Washington. Coach Abby and team immediately made me feel at home from the moment I stepped onto campus. It has the perfect balance of swimming and academics and I can’t wait for the next four years! Go Eagles!”
Kelly is a senior at Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Swimming breast and IM, she contributed to the Patriots’ state titles at both the 2014 and 2015 VHSL 5A State Meets, as well as to their third-place team finish at the 2016 VHSL 5A State Meet.
Kelly also swims for the Piedmont Family YMCA/CYAC. Her top events are:
- 100 breast – 1:09.67
- 200 breast – 2:36.81
- 100 back – 1:02.49
- 200 IM – 2:14.11
Kelly would have been an A-finalist for the Eagles at the 2016 Capital Athletic Conference Championships in all four of her top events. Mary Washington won the CAC women’s meet for the 26th year in a row.
