Splits
27.46 - 59.26 (31.80) - 1:34.01 (34.75) - 2:02.98 (28.97)
Blazevski was strong at the finish, helping him to get under the 2:03 mark. The 23-year-old holds seven Macedonian records, and his national mark in this event previously sat at 2:03.65 from this same Greensboro Sectional meet back in 2014.
In addition to this swim, Blazevski is entered in the 100 meter backstroke and the 400 meter IM. He holds the 400 IM national record at 4:23.51, while Gorazd Chepishevski holds the 100 back Macedonian record at 59.72. Blazevski could break that backstroke record, as he’s entered with a 59.95 which is well within striking distance.
The Greensboro Sectionals will continue with finals tonight at 6 PM (eastern time), with another two days of competition set for Saturday and Sunday. Check out our recap of night one here.
