LAWRENCEVILLE, New Jersey – The Marist women’s swimming & diving team beat Rider, 194.5-105.5, on Saturday afternoon.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The relay team of Veronica Stureborg, Lucie Gray, Sophia Swanson, and Nellie Thompson was victorious in the 200 medley in 1:52.26.
- The relay team of Margaret Hartman, Charlotte Lepis, Swanson, and Thompson won the 400 free relay in 3:41.44.
- Madeline Healey captured the 1,000 free (10:46.92) and 500 free (5:19.29).
- Thompson won the 50 free (25.14) and 100 free (54.47).
- Gray prevailed in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke (2:28.39).
- Stureborg and Molly Hewett finished one-two in the 100 backstroke.
- Leigh-Anne Zanella and Melanie Nunn finished one-two in the 200 butterfly.
- In the 3-meter diving event, Kyra Cavicchi and Morgan Cassidy came in first and second, respectively.
- Madison Sweeney won the 1-meter event as Cavicchi and Cassidy came in second and third.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University men’s swimming and diving team dominated Marist Saturday afternoon, defeating the conference rival 215-82. The Broncs improve to 2-1, while the Red Foxes fall to 1-1.
The Bronc men won 13 events in the meet.
Rider started the day with a win in the 200-medley relay. Lucas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross), David Cooper (Spring, TX/Klein Oak), Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy), and Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional) combined to touch the wall at 1:33.02.
Racevicius took the 200-free with a time of 1:41.05, followed by 1:45.87 from Cesar Alvarez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) for second, and 1:46.59 from Andrew Smolar (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) for third. Racevicius also won the 100-free in 45.69 and the 200-IM ahead of David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional) with times of 1:53.51 and 1:56.88.
Lane and Christian Overton went one-two in the 100-back with times of 50.50 and 50.86. Overton, Rucci, and Derek Fantano swept the 200-back in 1:50.37, 1:53.62, and 1:56.24.
Cooper swam one-two-three with Andrew Iannacone (Yardley, PA/Holy Ghost Prep) and Reuben Williams (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) in the 100-breast. The trio stopped the clock at 57.59, 58.21, and 59.45. Cooper also won the 200-breast in 2:07.68.
Bobby Irwin (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) and Rucci swam 1:52.52 and 1:54.21 in the 200-fly to finish one-two. Lane, Irwin, and Jack Ruggieri (Bellmawr, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) swept the 100-fly with times of 50.33, 51.07, and 51.55
In the diving well, Sean Binning (Annandale, VA/W.T. Woodson) and Marcas Racevicius (Watertown, CT/Holy Cross) swept the events. In the 1-meter Binning posted a scored of 270.30 to Marcus Racevicius’ 251.85. The pair scored 258.60 and 250.50 in the 3-meter.
The 400-free relay of Ruddy, Joe Gewartowski (Fort Washington, PA/Upper Dublin), Irwin, and Overton touched the wall at 3:07.75 to close out the day with a victory.

– Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) and Derek Fantano swam two-three in the 1,000-free.
– Gewartowski and Ruddy went two-three in the 50-free.
– Ruddy also took third in the 100-free.
