Marc Antoine Olivier Wins Tight Open Water 5K Battle Over Ous Mellouli

France’s Marc Antoine Olivier came out ahead by a hair in the men’s 5K at the U.S. Open Water Nationals in Miromar Lakes, Florida.

It was a four-man race at the finish, with Olivier and Trojan Swim Club’s Ous Mellouli pulling just ahead at the end. Olivier touched at 57:24.104, just ahead of Mellouli’s 57:24.246.

Ferry Weertman, the 10K runner-up from the Netherlands, secured a third place finish with his time of 57:25.239.

Japan’s Yasunari Hirai was the next man to finish, registering a time of 57:26.548 for fourth.

The top youth finisher was 17-year-old Taylor Abbott, who finished up in 14th place with a time of 59:26.662. Full results below:
