NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester University Director of Athletics Rick Espeset announced Wednesday, Sept. 26, that Mike Kocsis has been named head men’s and women’s swimming and diving coach.

Kocsis had previously served as assistant men’s and women’s coach at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky., since August of 2017. He has also held roles as assistant coach for the Grand Forks High School (N.D.) boys’ program from November 2011-March 2016 where he was also a strength coach for the same group from November 2012-March 2016.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Spartans’ athletics program,” Kocsis said. “This is an amazing opportunity to continue to build this young team into a successful program. I look forward to creating a team culture based on success in the classroom, domination in the pool, and a memorable student-athlete experience.”

Kocsis, just the second full-time swimming and diving coach in Manchester University history, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health from the University of North Dakota in December 2015. He’s continuing his education by pursuing a Masters of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of the Cumberlands.
