Lombardi Verbally Commits to Mount St. Mary’s

Mount St. Mary’s University Mountaineers gain a solid freestyler with the verbal commitment by Colorado native Mary Lombardi. Lombardi brings some distance power with her to the Northeastern Conference team, which will add to the current talents of Mountaineer women Juliette Lacoste (freshman) and Kaitlyn Powell (junior).

While swimming for Legacy High School in Broomfield, Colorado, Lombardi’s highest individual finish was at the 2013 CHSAA State Championships (5A), where she earned 13th place in the women’s 500 free (5:15.28).  Lombardi more recently clocked best times at the 2014 Speedo Champions Series – Western Region, where she swam a 17:30.33 in the 1650y freestyle and a 4:35.85 in the 400y IM.

Lombardi summed up her decision as follows, “I am so excited to be joining the Mount Saint Mary’s family next year!  I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me!”
