Chad le Clos collected his second title on Saturday evening at the South African Short Course Championships taking the men’s 100 butterfly in a time of 50.23.
le Clos, who won the 50 butterfly on Friday evening, beat his next closest competitor by exactly three seconds. le Clos also won the silver in the men’s 200 freestyle on Thursday evening.
Myles Brown, who beat le Clos in the 200 freestyle, took the gold in the men’s 400 freestyle in a time of 3:41.03, posting his second qualification time for the World Short Course Championships. Just like le Clos Brown dominated his competition winning the event by more then seven seconds.
Cameron van der Burgh also came away with his second title of the competition winning the men’s 100 breaststroke in a time of 57.74. van der Burgh and his teammate Giulio Zorzi (59.87) both finished under the world championships qualification standard.
van der Burgh is also heading into the final of the 50 breaststroke with the fastest qualification time of 27.28.
Karin Prinsloo, who qualified for the world championships in the women’s 100 backstroke, recorded another qualification standard winning the women’s 400 freestyle in a time of 4:08.61.
Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Sebastien Rousseau joined both le Clos and van der Burgh winning his second gold of the weekend taking the men’s 100 IM in a time of 53.72.
