Kick-Off Your Paralympic Experience With Twitter Emojis

The 2016 Paralympic Games kick off in Rio today with the Opening Ceremony of the quadrennial event taking place in Maracanã Stadium. Fans around the world can now express their Paralympic support via Games-themed images on Twitter. Just as with the Oympic Games, the Twitterverse’s emoji bundle has expanded further with a special tribute to the Paralympics.

By inserting hashtags such as #Paralympics, #ParalympicFlame, #OpeningCeremony, #ClosingCeremony and #Rio2016, special Paralympic emojis automatically populate your Tweet with the special images. The hashtags are available in 7 languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Arabic.

Twitter also invites fans to help virtually light up the #ParalympicFlame on its journey to Rio de Janeiro for the #OpeningCeremony. To help light, just send a Tweet using #Paralympics.

Below is a snapshot of all of the Twitter Paralympic-themed emojis currently available.
