GAMBIER, Ohio — Seven different Lords chalked up individual-event wins Saturday as the Kenyon College swimming and diving team rolled to a 183-117 home victory against the Vikings from Cleveland State University.
Two of those seven Lords, seniors Marcus Hong and David Fitch, were also a part of two relay wins. In the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay, they paired with Yurii Kosian and Luis Weekes to post a winning time of 1:30.32. In the meet-closing 200-yard freestyle relay, Hong and Fitch teamed with Liam Sweeney and Mart Niehoff to record a winning time of 1:22.06.
In between those two events, Hong won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.00 and Fitch won the 100-yard backstroke in 49.16.
There were two Kenyon athletes who each won a pair of individual events. Sophomore James Tracey controlled the distance events and classmate Israel Zavaleta took care of the diving events. Tracey won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 9:43.21 and later took the 500-yard freestyle in 4:41.72. On the boards, Zavaleta broke his own pool and program records on the one-meter, checking out with a score of 382.50. He won the three-meter with a score of 377.17.
Other Kenyon individual event winners included Bryan Fitzgerald in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.68), Noah Hargrove in the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.49) and Kosian in the 200-yard backstroke (1:50.12).
GAMBIER, Ohio — Sixteen swimming and diving events were held Saturday at the Steen Aquatics Center and the Kenyon College Ladies won them all while cruising to a 243-50 dual meet win against the Cleveland State University Vikings.
At the top of Kenyon’s long list of winners was senior Crile Hart. On her own, Hart racked up wins in the 50-yard freestyle (23.87), the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.09) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.05). With teammates Kate Alexy, Gabrielle Wei and Emmie Mirus, Hart was a part of the victorious 200-yard medley relay (1:45.66).
Two-time individual-event winners for Kenyon also included Olivia Smith, Katarina Ilic and Sydney Geboy. Smith, a junior, claimed victory in the 100-yard backstroke (57.57) and the 100-yard butterfly (57.89). Ilic, a sophomore, swept the diving events, taking the top spot on the one-meter (227.45) and the three-meter (239.17). Geboy, a first-year, posted wins in the 100-yard freestyle (52.25) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.68).
Geboy later added a relay win to her collection, closing out the meet as part of the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:36.24). The other three members of that foursome were Alexandra White, Nikola Kovacova and Mirus.
Wei, a first-year who swam a leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay, also chalked up an individual win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.70).
Kenyon’s other individual-event winners included Kira Bowling in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:42.39), Jennah Fadely in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.93), Ania Axas in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.61) and Sarah Hoffman in the 500-yard freestyle (5:10.82).

GAMBIER, Ohio – Not even 24 hours after competing at home, the women’s swimming & diving team fell to Kenyon, 243-50 on Saturday afternoon. Cleveland State turned in five runner-up performances on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brooke Eichel placed second in both diving events, scoring 222.45 in 1-meter and 214.35 in 3-meter.
- Mackenzie Lipnick claimed the runner-up spot in the 1000-yard freestyle, clocking a 10:51.22.
- Rachel Contich took second in the 200-yard freestyle, touching in 1:56.22.
- Lauren Lewis came in second during the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 2:07.75.

- Mackenzie Lipnick in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:51.22).
- Lauren Lewis in the 100-yard backstroke (59.58) and 200-yard backstroke (2:07.75).

- Grace Butcher in the 50-yard freestyle (27.00).
