Coe College seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach & Coordinator of Swim Lessons.  This position will provide assistant swimming and diving coach duties assigned by the Head Coach within the spirit, policies, and rules of Coe College, the American Rivers Conference, and the NCAA III in a manner that will further the fitness, wellness, personal, social, and academic development of Coe students. As the Swim Lessons Coordinator this position will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of Learn-To-Swim Program.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Vigorously recruit students, including telephone recruiting, off-campus recruiting, and on-campus recruiting as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the activities as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Attend all swimming lesson sessions to supervise and answer parent/participant questions.
  • Set up and track registrations for each Learn-To-Swim session.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate instructors and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist in the Supervision and Management of the aquatics facility including maintaining any certifications required by the Director of Aquatics.
  • Additional Responsibilities assigned by the Director of Athletics or Director of Auxiliary Services.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Previous experience working with swim lessons required.
  • Previous coaching experience and the certifications preferred:
    • Lifeguarding
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
  • Successful completion of a background and driver checks in accordance with Coe College policy.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Weekend and evening hours required.
  • Travel required.
  • Occasional lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent twist, bend, stoop and climb.
  • Ability to swim and navigate the pool and its surroundings.
