Denver Swim Academy is seeking a coach for our 10 and Under groups. We are looking for a Lead 8 and Under Coach that will be the second coach on deck for our 9-10 group. Denver Swim Academy is a coach owned club of around 220 Swimmers. DSA ws ranked in ASCA’s top 100 Age Group Clubs of the country
Qualifications
- Passionate about swimming and working with children
- Minimum 2 year of swim coaching experience
- Extensive knowledge of stroke mechanics, strategies, and techniques for competitive swimming gained through previous competitive swimming and/or coaching experience
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and time-management skills
- Working knowledge of TeamUnify
- Good standing with USA Swimming (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection, Concussion Protocol Training, Background check, Coaches Advantage Training, Foundations of Coaching), USA Swimming Certified Coach, or the ability to obtain the certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Thorough knowledge of all rules and regulations governing facilities, clubs, coaches and swimmers
Responsibilities
- The Age Group Swim Coach is responsible for coaching swimmers to their fullest potential, communication between the coaching team and along with timely communication with parents
- Additionally, the Age Group Swim Coach will also work closely with Denver Swim Academy coaches to provide a consistent coaching program for developing swimmers.
- The Age Group Swim Coach will have responsibility for coaching assigned age group, 10 and Under groups.
- Provide positive leadership, instruction, and execution of strategy for all levels of swimmers through implementation of a consistent coaching program throughout the entire Denver Swim Academy
- Develop and conduct Age Group practices in accordance with the Head Age Group Coach and Denver Swim Academy’s developmental training strategy
- Assist with the administration and participation at on-site/off-site swim meets along with other swim team functions throughout the year as needed
- Promote and help maintain positive club morale, safety, and discipline
- Weekend hours required for swim meets as needed
Compensation and hours:
- This is a part-time hourly position; Starting at $20/hour; 15-20 hours a week primarily in the evenings Weekend hours required for swim meets as needed
- Coverage may be requested for other coaching staff due to illness or vacations
- Denver Swim Academy holds practices from September through July
